Our StaffOur team of professional Captains, sailing instructors and crew are our greatest asset. Our staff is certified by the American Sailing Association the US Sailing Association and licensed by the United States Coast Guard. A sailing school is only as good as its instructors, and you'll find our instructional staff among the best in the industry. Our sailing instructors, certified by both the American Sailing Association and the US Sailing Association have worked with sailing schools across the nation and the Caribbean developing their skills and combine them here to give you the best sailing experience imaginable. Most instructors have substantial offshore sailing passages under their belt and can take you all the way through your sailing education from novice to advanced. Not only are our instructors great sailors, but they are also great educators - many spend their time off the water as professors, academics and teachers. Our team's commitment and dedication to teaching is based on a love of sailing and desire to share it with others.
Our BoatsOur fleet of modern Hunter 216 sportboats are the perfect combination of speed, stability, comfort, and ease of handling to make learning to sail a breeze. The 216's are a joy to sail for both children and adults and provide the performance and comfort of even the most demanding sailors - so much so that these same boats are the newest additions the the massive training fleets at the US Naval Academy and the Bitter End Yacht Club. Not only are out Hunter 216's great performers, they are also some of the safest boats afloat, with their internal positive flotation built into the hull layup, creating boat that is fully unsinkable even if holed or cut in half. We do not use uncomfortable race boats or older antiquated vessels. Our boats are some of the most advanced and comfortable small vessels afloat. The Hunter 216 even won the NMMA's highly-coveted Innovation Award in 2004 for its pioneering design and construction methods. The 216's are used in our Intro to Sailing and Basic Sailing courses. |
